When did you build your wall?
The first phase finished about 3 weeks ago. I had to do some garage cleaning and wife convincing first. The second phase was about 1 week ago. Second phase only had to do with adding some t-nuts to a section of the roof and some fancy painting.

How long did it take you to build?
It took one really long day for the initial part(phase 1). I started around 8 and finished about 20:00. The drilling and putting in t-nuts was probably the most time consuming part. That and maybe the wife trying to get me to do other chores ?. The framing and paneling was fairly easy and quick.

Not including holds and padding, how much did it cost you to build?
The cost was about $200 worth of lumber and screws. I had a bit of lumber, screws and t-nuts previously bought so maybe add another $50-75 to the total.

Did anything in particular inspire your wall design?
Not anything in particular, except the burning to desire climb. But seriously.

What was the most difficult aspect of the design and build?
The design was pretty straightforward. I wanted to go as high as possible to ceiling and then add the roof. I also wanted to be able to get behind the wall for t-nut issues and the like. So, ended up with about 17 degree angle on wall then transitions to roof. I guess the hardest part was putting up the roof section of panels by my lonesome. Everyone was busy but I got it done without any injuries.

    What would you do differently?
I would go bigger but alas funds, space and wife (not really) is holding that all back. ?

    What is your favorite aspect?
I enjoy building generally so its all fun. Putting up all the volumes I just finished and resetting was my favorite part recently. Getting on a fresh set is a great feeling.

Any words of wisdom to aspiring homewallers?
Just give it a go. It may seem daunting and hard but really not all that bad. Also, plan first and then build. Get all the measurement and make lists. Lastly, as many have said, hold are the expensive part. I bought mostly factory seconds.

Do you have any connection to climbing brands or gyms?
I work part-time as a setter at Climbwoodlands but thats about it.
