When did you build your wall? Was it a “COVID baby”?
Built in April 2020. Yes, to a COVID baby.
How long did it take you to build and what did that time look like?
A couple of hours. I basically just made the holds and put it up in a part of the house I knew could take the weight.
Not including holds and padding, how much did it cost you to build? Any surprises there?

What are you doing for padding?
Bouldering crash pads.
What was your primary incentive for the wall? Did anything in particular inspire your wall design?
Primaey incentive and secondary incentive was to give my wife, adult son and I something to do to keep from going crazy when we couldn’t leave the house.
What was the most difficult aspect of the design and build?
Deciding how crimpy to make the holds.
What would you do differently?
Change the shape of some holds to force pull directions.
Did you make any mistakes along the way or choose to re-do any aspects?
Nope.
What is your favorite aspect?
Creating something where something else already was.
How often do you use the wall?
Do you think you’ll still use it as much when the gyms fully open back up? We’re all back to climbing outside and soon hope to be back to the gym so I’m the last one still using it — about once a month.
