When did you build your wall?
    March 2020

How long did it take you to build?
    3 days

Not including holds and padding, how much did it cost you to build?
    $400

Did anything in particular inspire your wall design?
I have always wanted to build a home wall. I have head T-nuts and holds sitting in my basement for about 4 years. I even moved houses with them. Once Covid began I new it would be a while until gyms were going to be open so I thought what better time to build a home wall. I was also coming off this winter the strongest I had been in 7 years so I was very motivated to not lose all the hard work I put in over the winter

What was the most difficult aspect of the design and build?
Figuring out how to get the most out of my wall while still being able to fit two cars in the garage. I am hoping to slowly get approval from the other half to turn our garage into a full blown bouldering cave someday.

    What would you do differently?
I didn’t buy long enough 2x6s, so I have a lot of vertical at the bottom of my wall. I had intended to have my 45 degree wall start about 1 ft lower.

    What is your favorite aspect?
Just getting to pull on holds anytime I want. Sometimes it’s hard to motivate to climb on such a small wall, but the pros far outweigh the cons.

Any words of wisdom to aspiring homewallers?
Just build it!!! The process is fun and the outcome is even better. Also you will gain a new hobby. Searching for what cool holds you will get next.
